The Municipality of Pilar is set to unveil its newly constructed Pamilihang Bayan ng Pilar, a state-of-the-art public market, on February 3. The facility, spanning an area of 3,135.10 square meters, is expected to become a hub for commerce and community activity, offering residents and vendors a safe, clean, and organized space.
Mayor Charlie Pizarro announced that the new market will feature advanced amenities, including a comprehensive CCTV system to ensure the security of both vendors and shoppers.
“This market reflects our commitment to providing a better and safer environment for our community. It is more than just a marketplace—it’s a space for progress and connection,” Pizarro said.
The modern market houses a total of 151 stalls divided into specific sections for ease of navigation. These include 48 stalls for fresh fish, 36 for meat, 16 for vegetables, 8 for dried goods, 8 for fruits, 20 for groceries, 8 for consignation, and 7 for food court vendors. The organized layout ensures a seamless shopping experience for residents.
In addition to the wide array of stalls, the market is equipped with four restrooms, with dedicated facilities for men, women, and persons with disabilities (PWDs). The parking area has also been designed to accommodate vehicles, providing convenience for both customers and vendors.
Cleanliness and orderliness will be a priority at the new public market, according to Mayor Pizarro. A system for maintaining hygiene and proper waste management has been put in place to ensure a pleasant environment for all.
The opening of the Pamilihang Bayan ng Pilar marks a significant milestone in the town’s development, creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs while enhancing the quality of life for residents. With its modern features and community-focused design, the market is poised to become a vital economic and social space in Pilar.
